Donating Food to Doctors and Nurses During Pandemic

In order to appreciate medical workers, on 6/13-6/30,2021, we visited doctors and nurses in Reston Hospital Center. We contacted numerous restaurants to ask for donations to hospitals, collecting food from each restaurant and writing appreciation cards in each take outbox. In the end, we gave the food to the hospital receptionist and visited doctors and nurses.

They worked hard and devoted their love to us, and we devote love in return.

Mid-Autumn Festival

In order to promote Chinese culture at the mid-autumn festival in BASIS Independent McLean, a volunteer activity was organized by the Chinese mandarin class club. Some of our classmates and their parents joined this volunteer, and they creatively designed and made traditional and modern, innovative lanterns with riddles on them. We collected dozens of lanterns, delivered them to our teacher, and hung them in our school. Our teacher held an activity of guessing riddles, and our classmates loved it!

With the help of our volunteers, our school was beautifully decorated, and many students became interested in Chinese culture. We are very proud and excited!

Winter Coat Drive

In the United States, 1 in 7 Americans is currently living below the poverty threshold. Many families don't have the necessary resources to stay warm this winter.

United Mission for Relief & Development works with C-World Teenager Volunteer to help Afghan refugee families to get warmth in this cold winter.

With the help of our volunteers, we collected thousands of pieces of clothing from many communities, including our school.

We delivered thousands of clothes to hundreds of Afghan refugees on Dec. 11, 2021, and it was a great success. Many thanks to all who donated or helped deliver clothes.

HSK Tutoring

Hanyu Shunping Kaoshi, or HSK Chinese Proficiency Test, is an international standardized exam that tests and rates Chinese language proficiency organized by the Confucious University and directly assessed and held by the education department of China. It assesses non-native Chinese speakers' abilities in using Chinese in daily, academic and professional scenarios.

We sent out many tutors to help contestants review, and the tutors were all praised for their hard work.

Food Drive

C-World cooperated with BASIS Independent McLean to collect hundreds of bags of food including lentils, beans, flours, rice, and noodle. On March 4, 2022, volunteers of C-World and BIM assembled foods into packages and brought food to over  20 Afghan refugee families.

UMR Family Shopping Day for Afghan refugees

On February 19 and March 19, C-World teenage volunteer organization joined the UMR Family Shopping Day for Afghan refugees. During the event, C-world volunteers showed their responsibilities and serious attitudes. We hope all Afghan refugees can settle down in the US and have a peaceful start to their new lives.

Mother-Infant Hygiene Basket Give-Away

On April 24th, 2022, C-World Volunteers, as a chapter of UMR, joined AYRF to help afghan mothers and new-born infants. Volunteers went to two apartment complexes in Maryland to distribute more than two hundred hygiene boxes of every kind.
